Stocktrade Active Trader Account
This may be of interest to an experienced trader who deals on a frequent basis and requires a more flexible account.
Main features of service
- Extended settlements periods up to T+25 available on request
- Dealing limit can be extended up to twice the value of stock held
- May ´close´ positions up to three days prior to settlement date
- Settlement method may be one of direct debit or via a deposit account
Features of the Nominee Account
- Shares are held in our Nominee Company name.
- All administration is handled by the company on your behalf.
- Ease of settlement – increased security as no paperwork involved.
- Settlement period from as short as T+ 3.
- Funds held on deposit at an approved bank. The interest paid on these funds increases as the balance on deposit increases.
- Your fundamental rights are not impaired. You remain the beneficial owner of the shares held.
- Dividends are collected on your behalf and credited to your account with Stocktrade*.
- Dividends transferred to a nominated bank/building society quarterly on request.
- Consolidated tax certificate sent to you at the end of each tax year.
- You may trade in Foreign stocks** and Unit trusts.
- Statement of Transactions issued quarterly.
- Nominee fee of £12 + VAT per quarter.
- No charge by us for transferring stock from another broker to Stocktrade***
- Once your account is set up you may pay for purchases and/or top up your deposit account via debit card (Switch, SOLO, Delta, or Connect) - please note that your initial deposit must still be made by personal cheque.
* The Stocktrade Deposit Account is a customers money account held at an approved bank.
** No additional charge for dealing CREST eligible foreign stock. Additional charge of £50 for foreign stocks that cannot be held in CREST. We will inform you of any additional charges before dealing.
*** Your existing broker may charge for this transfer.

Additional Information
- Government Stamp Duty of 0.5% is levied on all purchases
- Irish Stocks have Stamp Duty of 1%
- A £1 PTM (Panel on takeover and mergers) levy is charged on all bargains over £10,000
